Statement on Unapproved software:

The use of any software not provided or approved by Infimed is strictly prohibited. Any other unapproved software installation on InfiMed’s products will be completed at the Owners risk and will void the system warranty to the manufacturer.

Statements on Anti-Virus Protection:

InfiMed has validated the following versions of Anti-Virus Software:

  • Symantec Corporate Edition, Version 11.0.2020.56
  • Norton Anti-Virus 2006 (Retail), Version 12.2.0.13

Notes on Anti-Virus Installation:

  • Complete (Default) software installation. Installation instructions are presented on-screen, in any manuals/guides included with the purchased software (in the case of retail installation) or are available via Symantec’s website.
  • Testing was performed with the default settings as they are set in the versions specified above.
  • Definition updates performed manually via internet access.
  • Personal Edition Norton 2006 was used because more recent versions no longer support Windows 2000.

Firewall Information:

  • InfiMed did not test, nor do we specifically approve, use of a software-based firewall. Firewall protection should be provided though hardware-based network equipment.
  • User assumes risk to hardware/software if a software-based firewall (i.e. ZoneAlarm, Norton, etc.) is installed on an InfiMed imaging system.

Windows Updates:

  • Only Critical Updates (as determined by the Microsoft Windows Updates page) should be applied to InfiMed imaging systems.
  • Updates should be performed at least 4 times per year (quarterly), though higher frequency increases system security.
  • While InfiMed did not encounter system issues during testing, the updating process should be scheduled Preventative Maintenance downtime; the system should not be used for clinical purposes while Updates are being downloaded or applied.
